If I a register a new Geographical VoIP number from you, will I be able to port it to another VoIP provider in the future, should the need arise?
You can open a new account in any name you like and port to us as long as the Account Holders details are represented on the porting docs.
As long as it is Geographical then yes. Very soon, 087 numbers are going to be allowed to port as well
Neotel have stopped porting their prepaid numbers away unfortunately. In other words, you can't port that number

I have received notice of the completion of the porting. How do I setup my IOS app to show that it is using the ported number?
I have change your caller ID so that your ported number appears on your app. Your ported number will only be active tommorrow as it is only porting tonight.
I have just gotten fibre to my home and am looking to cancel my Telkom landline, which is in my own name. Would it be possible to port that number to a FreshPhone account in my wife's name or does it have to be in my own name? We'd prefer the number to be linked to her FreshPhone account if this is possible.
You may port your number to your wife's Freshphone account.
Please follow the below process to initiate porting.
To start the porting process please login to your TMS: https://tms.freshphone.co.za/
- Select your account
- Select DID manager on the right hand panel
- Select "Port my geographical number"
- Follow the prompts and complete the porting application form
- Upload all documents and submit your submission.
Please DO NOT cancel your line with your current provider, only cancel it once the port has been successful, The provider will receive a port out notification and they should automatically cancel your line, however always best to follow up with a call to them to confirm the cancellation on the line.
We cannot port a cancelled/suspended line.
Porting takes between 7-21 days.
