Just remember that by default most apps use the uLAW audio codec, and we only allow G729, iLBC and GSM (so you may need to set it).
On a general note: LTE provides MUCH better call quality then 3G, and EDGE is simply not possible. So please check your signal when you planning to make a SIP call over the mobile network. Even if there is signal, you could get a poor call quality because of general congestion over the mobile network - there just inst anything we can do about that.

Hi
I'd like to port my home/residential telkom geographical number (011) to Freshphone and use my Android phone (Xiaomi Redmi 3) to make and receive calls using the geographical number.
Do you advise using the built in Internet calling feature in the dialer (as above) or a third party app (as listed on the devices page on your website) like Zoiper?

Hi Aadil
We will be adding the geographic porting ability by the end of next week, it will be available at a once off cost of R285 incl VAT.
We suggest using the built in Internet Calling as it will have better control over the phone. However using this service on mobile connectivity will experience fluctuating call quality due to the congestion and type of connectivity you achieve. It's purpose is for home use on Fibre or Home Fixed LTE.
For referernce here is the answer in our FAQ about using it on Wifi, 3G, ADSL and mobile LTE
The Fresh PHONE service is entirely dependent on the quality of the Internet connection you are using when making or receiving a phone call. Hence we only recommend connections that do not generally suffer from congestion or high latency such as FTTH (Fibre to the Home) or Fixed Home LTE (Telkom).
Sometimes other connectivity types, such as ADSL, 3G, Edge, WiFI or Mobile LTE will work. However, we do NOT recommend relying on these connectivity types as they are prone to congestion and high latency which result in poor call quality.

Guys, if you want to make money with Fresh phone, you going to have to provide some form of telephonic support. I spent quite a few hours today doing battle with Zoiper settings without success.
Ok, so I'm trying to configure my account using the Android sip protocol :
Where do I insert the server ntp1.freshphone.co.za
Where do I activate the correct codes.

Hi Mark
We are working on a Zoiper Android tutorial now, we will post it later this morning. We are sure we will be able
to assist you via this Forum.
Please note SIP clients on mobile phones such as Zoiper do not require Time Servers = ntp1.freshphone.co.za. The time
server is built into the mobile phone already.

Hi, I want to understand something:So, I have tried to configure internet calling on Android. I then configured dial settings. When I try dialing, it says 'call not sent'. 3 wuestions:
Is this because of an incorrect setting?
Is this because my RICA has not been processed?
Do I need an aditional app to use internet calling?

On RICA
Unapproved RICA Status only prevents you from being able to Top UP Air Time with a Credit Card or Voucher.
Please note you need at least 1c in your Air Time account to make outbound calls, even FREE calls. You
can always dial *99 to test calls with or without Air Time in your account.
Thank you.

Hi Mark,
There is no need for a router, as the phone can run the software required. Take a look at http://www.freshphone.co.za/suggested-voip-phones-and-softphones/
Android also has native SIP abilities, called "Internet Calling", FreshPHONE is compatible with android Internet Calling.
